New Floors Need to Settle Before Scraping

I renovated my house two months ago. I hired a flooring company to repair holes and add a section of wood floors where a wall used to be. The floors were scraped, and applied with layers of lacquer. Now, the areas that were replaced have started to rise. The floor company used glue and nails and assured me that it was done correctly. What happened?

It seems to me that the replaced floor was not given a minimum of one month to settle before it was scraped lacquered. The nature of wood is to shift and settle which can take approximately three to six weeks.
